Bookends Library

Privacy Policy

The short version: Bookends doesn't collect anything about you that it doesn't need, and nothing is sold.

What we collect

Bookends does not require an account with us, and we don't run our own analytics or tracking. We never sell your information, and we never receive your name, email address or contacts.

Your server

The app connects only to the Audiobookshelf server you choose. Your sign-in, library and listening progress go between your device and that server, which is run by you or by whoever invited you. That server's owner is responsible for the data stored on it. We don't receive your library, your progress or your server login.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, your device's notification token is stored on your server's notification service so it can tell you when new books arrive in series you're reading, or pass along a message from the server's admin. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.

Apple Watch and Read Along

If you use the Apple Watch app, your playback state and server sign-in are synced directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch. Read Along transcribes audio with Apple's on-device speech models; the audio and text never leave your device.

Feedback you send

If you use the in-app feedback form, the message you write is sent to us anonymously through a Google Form, along with the app version, your device type (for example "iPhone") and iOS version. It isn't linked to your name, email or any identifier. If you email support@aiosa.app, we use your email only to reply to you.

Children

Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date below. Questions? Email support@aiosa.app.
